We just received a call from Maddy's doctor. Her bone marrow was clear!!! Russ and I will be going to the clinic on Monday to go over Maddy's treatment plan and sign paperwork. Maddy will now start treatment on Thursday- they figured out that they have to wait seven days from her last treatment.
Now THAT was a fast answer to prayers!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear *good* news. We'll continue to pray for good results as you continue on this journey.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the bone marrow test results so quickly!! I'm looking forward to dancing with Maddy tomorrow night at the wedding - and Julia too!! Many, many are praying for the 4 of you!
ReplyDeleteLove you all so much!

One month after Maddy's diagnosis, a friend's young son was given the exact same diagnosis. Your fights have been so similar. In light of all that has transpired within the last 24 hours, I thought I would pass on her words to you and hope that there is comfort to be found in them.
ReplyDeleteI have learned so much from becoming a mother and have an even greater perspective on the undeniable fighting spirit we have for protecting our children. Even in moments when my courage waivers, I know I always need to find a way to stay strong for our children. The challenges we have faced are not ones that I ever considered, but are part of our journey of parenting nonetheless. In the wise and relevant words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”
I know that the amount of support, love, and prayers you are given can often be overwhelming, but we will continue to send those thoughts out to your sweet Maddy in the days, weeks, and months that lie ahead. Please accept them and feel comforted by them.

Dear Maddy
ReplyDeleteSounds like your puppy may get to chew on an Orff instrument again!!! Are your Grandmas up to some more square dancing at the end of the year? We are going to get you through this, you AND your dear Mom, Dad and Julia. Your name has not come off my prayer list and will remain for a long time. Because, once you are healed, I'm just going to keep thanking God for you and what he wants to do with your life. We all have a purpose and I know you are very special to Him.

Hi Again Maddy,
ReplyDeleteI just can't quit thinking about you and Julia and your Mom and Dad.
Here's a snowman joke for you:
Q. Where does a snowman keep his money?
A. In a snow bank.
I think all the snowmen should be rich this winter ---- there are certainly a lot of snowbanks for them to hide their money in.
Keep that beautiful smile on your face--it makes you shine! By the way I love that praying frog you gave me last Spring! It is right here in my sunroom and everytime I look at it I pray for you and your family. You are loved by sooooooo many people!
Remember: GOD is GOOD ALL the TIME; ALL the TIME, GOD is GOOD! See you soon! Hang in there! Love, Miss Heckel
We are praying for all of your family!
