Good Day

Maddy has felt better and been more active everyday since she has been home.  Her counts are not the greatest, but they are climbing right now.  She took this opportunity to join her class for Field Day today at school-  with most events outside, we thought it would be good for her.  It could not have been a more perfect day!  Maddy played and laughed with her friends.  It was good to see her with all of her classmates.  They were excited to see Maddy as well.  In anticipation of having to go back to the hospital next week, we plan to take advantage of the great weekend ahead!

Hoping everyone is able to take a moment to enjoy the little things in life this weekend.

  1. I was wondering why God blessed us with just a perfect day after days and days of rain. Now I know! It was so Maddy could join us for a fun day. I am so glad you were there in your super-cool shoes, Maddy!

  2. You know it isn't just a coincidence that we had a beautiful day for the Varsity A's, after it had been rotten all week! It was so Maddy could be there and we could have a successful RFL fundraiser. And attending her first communion, awesome timing there too!

Now, today, same deal. Crummy weather all week....today beautiful so Maddy could join us. How uplifting for all her classmates to get to spend the day with her and her beaming face showed how she felt to be there with everyone. Of course I had to cry when I saw her because no one even tipped me off that she "might" get to come!! Hmmmmmm....

Next order of business is that Maddy's counts are where they should be and she is at a point in her treatments so she can attend RFL and fulfill her dutites as Honorary Jr. Chairman! Plus, it is going to be a blast and we just want her there for at least some of it.

So, God, thanks for what you've done in these past events to make them work for Maddy. I thank you in advance for the work you are doing in Maddy to rid her of leukemia once and for all! And it would be a nice bonus for her to come to RFL. I mean, after all, there are over 1000 ABC 4 Maddy shirts out there and a lot of people will be at Relay for Life wearing them.

    Have an awesome weekend Lamberts.

And Julia, congrats to you! Must have been all I taught you back in Little League!!?? Yeah, right! You worked hard and deserved it!

    Love you all,
    Mrs. Buehrer

  4. Hi Maddy,
I was so glad to see you yesterday. I loved doing the parachute with you. It was really funny when the boys were putting the ice cubes down their back. My dad said if we get our chores done today he will take us fishing. I hope you have a good weekend.
    Love,
    Megan ;)

  6. Maddy and Family,

God is GOOD all the time! All the time God is GOOD! And He proved that again this week. I couldn't agree more with Mrs. Buehrer's message! God provided a GOOD Field Day for you and all of AES! I am so glad you were there with your friends and I was very glad you call me so I I could join you for a little time in the afternoon. I loved your hat and shoes!

I know your counts are coming up and it will soon be time for more of those yucky drugs! But I just know that God is going to give you and your Mom and Dad and the Drs. and the nurses the knowledge and the strength and the courage needed so you can beat this leukemia! One of my favorite pictures is the one where you are wearing that black "Cancer Fears Me" hat. That leukemia needs to be afraid of you! You are going to kick it in the butt!

    Have a really fun weekend!

    Love, Hugs and Prayers,
    Miss Heckel

Like I told you on Friday, seeing you "MADE MY DAY!" You were an extra bright ray of sunshine for all of us! Mason was also so excited to see you....he told Molly first thing Friday after school that you were at Field Day.

    Love you sweetheart!
