On Christmas day, Santa was good to us. He brought Maddy an electric scooter and the video was taken Christmas morning. We just had to share. As you can see on the video, Maddy had a little difficulty remembering to let go of the throttle before trying to get off the scooter and she sacrificed her body to save Andre's car. Good thing her platelet count was up on Christmas- not too many bruises! After that first ride, Maddy kept saying that Santa brought her a dangerous toy. Shame on you Santa! Since then though, she has gotten used to the scooter and loves it!
We are now looking forward to celebrating the new year. Maddy had counts twice this week, and she still isn't where she needs to be to start her next treatment. We are now looking at next week. On one hand, we are glad that she has been able to enjoy the holidays. On the other hand though, these delays just prolong this whole process. It just reminds us that we have to enjoy each day and not waste time trying to control things that are beyond our control. This of course is often easier said than done!
Happy New Year!
Sweet! Glad you found the video!!!
ReplyDeleteMaddy, what a dare devil you are! Do you think you could get your Dad to get your Mom one of those scooters? She could use it to go up and down the halls as school! I hope you didn't get too banged up! Maybe you will want to be a stunt double or do your own stunts when you are a famous movie star. What did you get Lizzie for Christmas? I bet she was fun this year. Have a Happy New Year.
Love,
Mrs. Hill
Happy New Year to Maddy and you all. I loved the video. Very cool! I'm glad that the crash at the end didn't end up with any damage. Good luck on those counts...
ReplyDeleteHey Maddy,
ReplyDeleteVery cool about the raffle your family did for ABC 4 Maddy. What a great start for our team! I am still in Honduras and just read the update but can't see the video so will have to wait till I get back to the states to see your scooter driving skills!
See you soon! Glad you had a great Christmas!
Love you,
Mrs. Buehrer
Hi Maddy,
ReplyDeleteit looks like that scooter is so much fun! The video is cool! I love you and Julia's pjs. It looks like you had a very fun Christmas!!!! Was Santa good to Julia too? I'm betting he was!!! I agree with Mrs. Hill, I think your Mom needs a scooter at school. Maybe I could borrow it on occasion! Bet I'd have more crashes than you!
I'm so glad you were able to stay out of the hospital over Christmas. But now that the holidays are over, let's get those counts up so you can get these treatments over with! You are kicking leukemia in the butt!!! I pray for you, your Mom and Dad and Julia every single day!!!!! Remember GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME -- ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!
Lots of Love,
Miss Cindy
P.S. Lets have a 'girls' night' at my house sometime soon. Movies, popcorn and games or WHATEVER you want to do. You can invite a couple of friends!!!!
By the way, your family's raffle was sooooooo cool!!!
Oh Maddy, you crack me up!!! Thank God for good platelet levels :) I'm sure by now you have mastered your scooter though! Hope you all had a great Christmas and things continue to go well for you! We think of you often and Adalyn is always talking about her friends, Julia and Maddy!
ReplyDeleteOh, do you know what Adalyn asked Santa for? She asked for an I Pad, just like her friend's.... :)
Take Care!
