Spring Break (Day #4)

Today was a better day. The worst part for Maddy was "the shot". The needle the nurse used was quite a bit larger than what the doctor had told us it would be. Mom made sure that the next time, the right needle would be used. Hopefully, this will help. Other than that, Maddy is just tired. Her blood pressure has been running really high so they are trying to figure out what is causing this. They have reduced the IV fluids they are giving her, running some tests, giving her two different blood pressure medicines, and they are going to do an ultrasound of her kidneys tomorrow. They want to make sure her kidneys are functioning properly- kidney issues can cause high blood pressure.

We'll see what tomorrow will bring...

  3. I am so sorry that Maddy and the rest of you are having to endure all of this. I hope and pray that every day gets a little better for Maddy and each test that comes back is better news.

  4. Dear Maddy
"Some days are diamonds, some days are stones" John Denver used to sing. Sounds like you've had a couple of stone days.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Your Mom has such a great way of letting us in to share your journey. You are certainly one tough cookie. Keep up the fight and remember, Lots of friends all over the world are praying for you. Some battles aren't won quickly but they are win-able! Never give up, never give up, never give up. Praying Monday is a diamond day.

  5. Hi Maddy and Family,

Just got back from working out and took a shower!!!! Mrs. Buehrer and I are heading to Toledo in about 1/2 hour. We are going to stop to see you, if we can get in! Is there anything you want us to bring you? There are lots of better, sunshiny days ahead! When Miss Hurst comes back from Florida I told her she had to bring WARM weather with her and lots of sunshine for you! She is going to try. Lots of people are praying and praying for you! Even people you do not know! Hang in there honey.

    Love, Miss Heckel
